Junior Achievement of Central Iowa is planning a special event for 2008 and on behalf of our Board of Directors, we would be thrilled if you could help us in our efforts to raise monies for vital JA educational programs here in central Iowa.

On Monday, August 18th, 2008, JA will be hosting our annual Golf Classic at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines. But, the 2008 event will have an exciting new twist. We are going to have a local celebrity/newsmaker/community business leader join each foursome for a round of golf. Some of the confirmed participants include ISU Athletic Director Jamie Pollard, Drake Athletic Director Sandy Hatfield Clubb, Coaches Johnny Orr and Nick Nurse, Des Moines Register Publisher Laura Hollingsworth, former Drake players Adam Emmenencker and Klayton Korver, former Hawkeyes Al Lorenzen and Chuck Hartlieb and many others.

Obviously, the golf at Glen Oaks is a special treat in itself. But, when you factor in the meaningful cause behind the fantastic golf outing, we are sure that you’ll agree that this one event that you simply cannot miss.

Our mission at Junior Achievement is to reach every single student in central Iowa with business and economic education. Through our educational programs, we inspire our youth to achieve, involve volunteers in meaningful activities and invest in the future of the children in our community. Your participation with the JA Celebrity Golf Classic will help us to raise the necessary funds that allow for the continuation of our programs that help over 20,000 students in our community gain the knowledge, skills and motivation to be successful in school, in the workplace and in life.
