JA
Job Shadow Works!
JA Job Shadow provides real-life opportunities for students to
learn about fundamental business concepts, including careers,
competition, voluntary exchange, markets and prices, investments,
benefits and costs, incentives, specialization and income.
JA appointed an independent evaluator to assess the impact of the
program; particularly, the impact on students’ beliefs and attitudes
about education and themselves, and teachers’ perceived impact of the
program.
Overall, all ethnic groups, and both males and
females demonstrated increased knowledge; particularly,
Hispanic-Americans and females made the greatest gains. The more JA
experience students had during previous years, the more they understood
the relationship between business and education.
