teams compete to see who can have the
most money by the end of the night!

Premise: Teams of four register with Junior Achievement, and are given a
list and description of 26 fictitious stocks as well as $500,000.00
trading dollars which they use to invest in their desired portfolio. On
the evening of the event, teams gather and prepare for the opening bell.
Once the bell is rung, the market is open and each day is only 80
seconds long! Trading takes place for two 30 Day sessions.
Teams can track the performance of their portfolio's, and their
standings from information provided on 3 massive screens at the front of
the room. Throughout the event information in the form of News Releases,
Hot Stock Tips, and Portfolio Printouts are available, and give teams
insight as to how certain stocks will perform. How well teams interpret
this information is imperative to their success. Teams can make trades
by attracting the attention of a floor trader. Each floor trader is
equipped with a hand held computer that puts team’s orders instantly
into the system via wireless transmissions. All transactions occur in
real time.
