MENU OF OPPORTUNITIES

Junior Achievement is fundamentally a
volunteer organization where dedicated individuals give their time
in the classroom to educate and inspire young people about business,
economics and free enterprise. Volunteers are the hallmark of the
organization. Junior Achievement supplies the business and economic
education curricula to students in grades kindergarten through
twelfth.
Consider supporting your favorite school or class.

Volunteers Needed TODAY!
Hello everyone! First of all,
thanks for those volunteering in the classroom. I appreciate the
time you take away from your work to volunteer especially during
these crazy times. But so worth it when you have 25 little people
thinking you are the coolest! I love that part.
We have several schools attending JA BizTown in the next 3 months
and some of these schools need help with volunteers. Typically, the
teachers recruit the volunteers for JA BizTown, which are parents of
the students that will be attending. However, we do have about nine
Des Moines Public Schools that need a little help. These parents
might have trouble taking time away from their work or there might
not be as much parent involvement in a certain class.
The students are here from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You would answer
questions and help direct them. You would be assigned to a business
and have the same students all day long. There would be about 5-7
students in the business with you. These are 5th grade students. It
is a great experience and every volunteer that has done, loves it!
We have training already set up and once you decide if you are
available to help out and picked a date/school then we will let you
know the training date. If you are not able to make the training
date, then we will set one up with you.
It is a busy day and it flies by when you are out there. You will
love it! If it works in your schedule, we would love to have you.
Just let me know.
Have a great day!
