Connections® JA Success Skills
JA Success Skills focuses on developing students' interpersonal effectiveness. Through an assessment, the students identify the strengths and unique potentials of their interpersonal skills. They examine how their interpersonal skills match careers of interest to them, develop resumes, and practice their skills in mock job interviews. They begin work on a skill portfolio that they can carry with them into the work force when seeking employment. Connections® JA Success Skills Activities
Activity One: Great Expectations Through role play, the students discover the importance of interpersonal skills and how they can further develop their own.
Activity Two: Communication The students role play difficult business situations and discuss how interpersonal skills could have been varied to alter the outcomes.
Activity Three: Video Assessment The students will view a video of workplace situations and complete an assessment.
Activity Four: Interpersonal Effectiveness The students will receive the results of the video assessment they completed the previous session. They will interpret their individual results and receive examples of how they can build on their skills measured in the assessment.
